Survivors face 2-year tornado anniversary

— When a child is born, you celebrate their birthday every year thereafter. But, what do you do when the child dies?

That is the question haunting Cindy Mitchell of Madison as the two-year anniversary of the April 27, 2011 tornadoes, arrives Saturday.

Two years ago, 62 tornadoes touched down across Alabama, killing 253 people in 19 counties and injuring nearly 2,000 more. People who lost loved ones cannot forget the day and wonder if time will ever ease their pain.
