BREAKING: Wreck closes southbound lanes of Tennessee River bridge on I-65

— A wreck on the Tennessee River Bridge has shut down traffic on the southbound lanes of Interstate 65 while emergency crews work the scene.

According to WAFF 48, an 18-wheeler traveling south on I-65 lost control around 2 p.m. and hit a guard rail before ping-ponging to the other side and stopping. The guardrails on both sides of the southbound lanes of the bridge were damaged.

The truck was the only vehicle involved in the accident and the driver was not injured, according to reports.
