City school board passes budget amendments for $177K
The amendment includes $31,000 for fine arts at Athens Intermediate, Brookhill Elementary School, Cowart Elementary School, Athens Middle School, Athens Intermediate School and Athens High School.

Area home sales up 6 percent in February
The average selling price took a nosedive from a year ago. The average price of $141,902 for a home in Athens in February was a 19.7 percent drop from $176,737 in February 2013.
