Elkmont woman injured in U.S. 72 wreck

— An Elkmont woman was injured in an early Thursday morning crash on U.S. 72, according to a spokesman at the state troopers office in Decatur.

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office confirmed MedFlight took Erica Miller, 34, from the scene, five miles east of Athens. The crash occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m.

Troopers said Miller was wearing a seat belt when her 2001 Ford collided with a 2001 Volkswagen driven by Chynna Powell-Petrus, 16, who was not injured.
