UPDATE: Cousin fatally stabs cousin over borrowed movies

BLACKBURN — Two cousins fighting over two borrowed movies led to a fatal stabbing today in Limestone County.

Yancey Foster, 34, of Lot 6 Chris Way, which is west of Blackburn Road, died from a single stab wound to the chest sometime after 2:36 p.m. today, Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely said.

“We got a call from a subject about 2:36 p.m. from a man who said he had been stabbed,” the sheriff said. “When we arrived, ambulance personnel were already there attempting to provide medical attention to the victim. He expired before MedFlight could transport him (to Huntsville Hospital).”

Charged with murder in the stabbing is Kenny Dewayne Adams, 35, who lives across the street and a couple of trailers down from Foster, the sheriff said.

Investigators determined what prompted the killing after questioning the assailant and witnesses at the scene.

“Apparently, this all involved some movies that Adams had loaned Foster, and they got into an argument about Adams attempting to retrieve them,” Blakely said.

The titles of the movies that sparked the homicide — “The Fast and the Furious” and a sequel “2 Fast 2 Furious” — are action films about illegal street racing and car heists.

Adams remained in the Limestone County Jail tonight awaiting bail to be set by a judge.

While responding to the call of a possible stabbing, a Limestone County deputy’s patrol car was struck by a motorist, damaging both vehicles.
