UPDATE: Sheriff names 4 arrested in home invasion

Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men and two women in connection with an early-morning home invasion Thursday on Segers Road next to the Old Cobblestone subdivision.Limestone Sheriff Mike Blakely and investigators have released the names of the other three suspects involved in a home invasion early Thursday on Segers Road. One suspect, Wendell Hyter Jr., 22, of 112 Joyce Drive, Hazel Green, had already been arrested.

The sheriff, his investigators and members of Huntsville Police Department arrested the remaining three about 5:30 p.m. Thursday at a residence on Flamingo Road in Huntsville. They include:

• Lamar Detrick Jones, 31, of 3516 Flamingo Road, Huntsville;

• Krissy Qu’ta Kendall, 20, of 2806 Coosa Circle, Huntsville;

• Auburn Renee Michelle Moore, 26, of 4009 Sewell Drive, Huntsville.

All four were charged with first-degree burglary and Jones was additionally charged with second-degree assault, Blakely said.

About 1:30 a.m. Thursday, two men entered the Segers Road home. One of the men, Hyter Jr., was armed with a gun and had a stocking over his face, the sheriff said. Blakely said there were six people in the home when the two men entered — the owner, owner’s son, a male friend, and three women. Blakely said the group was “having a party.”

“One of the assailants hit the owner’s friend in the head with a gun and hollered for everyone to get down on the floor,” Blakely said. “As he attempted to bind the man’s hands with flex cuffs (zip ties), the owner of the house began to hit him with pool sticks, and the guy with the gun ran off.”

The men in the house then struck the other assailant with pool sticks and broke a guitar over his head, the sheriff said. The second man fled to a nearby house hollering for help, Blakely said.

The owner of the home heard the man and found him outside. Blakely said the suspect was held at gunpoint until a deputy arrived.
