BREAKING: Athens' Beaty Street near ASU closed Friday, Saturday for fiddlers

ATHENS — Beaty Street in front of Athens State University's Founders Hall will be closed to through traffic Friday and Saturday.

Vendors will be set up on the street for the Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention.

Athens Street Department Manager Dolph Bradford said homeowners will be able to access their driveways. 

Motorists should use caution around the Athens State area, as up to 20,000 spectators are expected for the event.
