An Athens man was charged with receiving stolen property after he allegedly tried to sell equipment to a recycling business, according to a release from Athens Police.
Abdul Nasseri was arrested Wednesday on a warrant for receiving stolen property. He was booked at the police department and transferred to the Limestone County Jail.
The owner of a mower, various types of metals, a hydraulic boom pole, a rolling floor jack and a wheel borrow reported them stolen Sept. 4, police said. The owner said the thefts occurred between the end of July and the first part of September.
That afternoon, police said he contacted Investigator Eric White and after he saw some of the items at Tennessee Valley Recycling on U.S. 72. White obtained records that showed Nasseri brought some of the property to the business and sold it.
