Man charged with making terrorist threat

— A Limestone County Sheriff’s deputy charged an Athens man with making a terrorist threat and possession of a controlled substance Tuesday for allegedly threatening a neighbor and for having pills in his possession at the time of his arrest, Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely said.

Ricky Lee Carney, 52, of 22304 Piney Chapel Road, Apt. B-7, remained in the Limestone County Jail Wednesday afternoon with bail set at $15,000, records show.

Blakely said officers received a call about a resident who was upset with a neighbor and who had made threats toward the neighbor.

Deputy Rhett McNatt arrested Carney for allegedly making the threat and, during the process of taking him into custody, found a couple of pills in his possession, the sheriff said.
