West Limestone High School to host Spring Fling Saturday

By Lora Scripps

— West Limestone High School will host its inaugural Spring Fling from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Three bands — rockers Bad Reputation, Christian rockers City of Refuge and country singer Jimmy Gilliam along with Roger Whitt — are slated to perform. Live music starts at 11 a.m.

In addition, disc jockey Chris Slaton will play recordings throughout the event.

Carnival games, provided by Wes Harvey, include a double waterslide, prizes and a petting zoo. Armbands for all-day play at the carnival are $10 and include a hot dog and drink.

Barbecue sandwich plates will also be available throughout the day and include chips and a drink for $5.

There will also be a bake sale and silent auction. Auction items include two reserved seats with a parking space for Wildcat varsity football games, a bookcase and more.

Attendees will have the opportunity to dunk West Limestone coaches and players in the dunking booth. Participants receive two throws for $1.

Spring Fling will include a kickball tournament. Teams need at least eight players. Cost is $5 per player.

A horseshoe tournament will be available at $10 per team.

To register a team, call or text Meredith Haney at 256-777-8509.

Proceeds go to West Limestone football.
