Elkmont drug bust nets 3 arrests

ELKMONT — Three people are facing drug charges following a bust at an Elkmont residence late Thursday night.

Limestone County Sheriff's investigators arrested the three after finding methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at a home at 27712 Puckett Lane.

Arrested were Richard Thomas Lewter, 53, and Lisa Darlene Miller, 46, both of 27712 Puckett, and Tammy Mitchell, 39, of 26927 Pettusville Road. Each is charged with manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. They remained in the Limestone County Jail today, with bail set at $56,000 each.

Complaints about methamphetamine cooking prompted Lt. Josh McLaughlin and Investigator Justin Flanagan to obtain a warrant and enter the home. Among the items confiscated were a meth lab, two bags of methamphetamine, scales, coffee filters containing meth residue.
