Man arrested on forged check charges

— A man who cashed more than a dozen forged checks at Hometown Grocery in Athens was arrested Wednesday by Athens Police.

Joshua Michael Lunsford, 24, of 22104 Mooresville Road in Athens had 14 forged checks in his possession, according to a police report. He was arrested on 14 counts of possession of forged instruments by Investigator Jonathan Caldwell.

After being booked at the Athens Police Department, he was transferred to the Limestone County Jail. He remained in jail Wednesday afternoon on $47,000 bond.
