— HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Police in Huntsville say the driver of a van that struck and critically injured a pedestrian is suspected of being intoxicated behind the wheel.
WAAY-TV reports (http://bit.ly/13uODUB ) a person was hit by a van while crossing the street late Wednesday on Governors Drive. Police say the pedestrian was rushed to Huntsville Hospital with severe, life-threatening injuries.
Police say the driver of the van was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after taking a sobriety test. The names of the driver and the injured pedestrian were not immediately released.
Huntsville police say the collision remains under investigation.
