BREAKING: $10,000 reward offered in fatal Limestone wreck

ATHENS — The governor’s office and Limestone County District Attorney Brian Jones announced Monday a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who caused a fatal wreck on Interstate 65 in Limestone County in April.

George Thomas Bolden, 49, of Decatur, was northbound on I-65 about 7:15 p.m. Sunday, April 7, between Upper Fort Hampton and Sandlin roads, when his 1995 Jeep was rear-ended by a speeding motorist in the right lane, according to the accident report filed by Troopers Jacob Smith and Marcus McCollum. Bolden lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and rolled multiple times before striking a tree, according to the report.

The speeding driver then left the scene, according to the accident report, which listed two witnesses.

Bolden was pronounced dead at the scene by the Limestone County coroner’s office.

Anyone with information should contact the Decatur trooper post at 256-353-0631 or the district attorney’s office at 256-233-6416.
