Limestone County under severe thunderstorm watch

— Limestone County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 7 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, a cold front will move southward across the Tennessee Valley today. A chance of thunderstorms is expected across the region this afternoon.

Some of the storms will become strong to severe with the possibility of damaging winds and large hail.

The strongest storms are expected to affect areas north of the Tennessee River during the early afternoon before spreading across the remainder of the area in the mid- to late afternoon.
