UPDATE: Fewer than 400 still without power in Limestone

More than 2,000 people lost power across Limestone County this afternoon as storms rolled through around 1:30 p.m. In total, 33 outages are impacting more than 2,000 customers. Athens Utilities restored power to 860 customers between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. As of, 4:45 p.m, less than 400 remained without power.

Athens Utilities began working to restore power to an area of western Limestone County north of U.S. 72 West, where 570 customers are without power. The utilitiy department reported at 2:30 p.m. 23 total outages involving 1,205 customers across the county. The outages occurred as the storm came through the county about 1:30 p.m.
