— An Athens woman accused of assaulting a woman and stealing her iPhone outside the local Lowe's store is now facing a robbery charge.

Wednesday afternoon, Athens Police received a call about a fight between two women in the Lowe’s parking lot off U.S. 72 in Athens, Chief Floyd Johnson said.

"While units were responding to the call, a witness told our dispatcher one of the ladies left running and was picked up by a male driving a vehicle," Johnson said.

The witness followed the vehicle until one of the Limestone County Sheriff’s deputies got the vehicle stopped on Oakdale Road, the chief said. Officers went to Lowe's to talk with the other person involved in the fight.

"She told officers she had left the store and was walking to her vehicle when she was approached by a lady asking a question," Johnson said. "She said the lady grabbed her IPhone and wouldn’t let go. After a brief struggle over the phone, the victim said the lady hit her several times causing her to fall to the ground. While on the ground, the victim was hit and kicked several times."

The offender fled with the phone.

Officers arrested Rikki Lee Corbishley, 32, of 22326 Holt Road, on a charge of third-degree robbery, records show. The phone was recovered from Corbishley's purse, the chief said.

The male driver of the car was arrested by the deputy on an outstanding warrant.

Corbishley was booked at the Police Department and transferred to the Limestone County Jail, where she was released after posting bail of $5,000.
