3 Limestone teens charged with burglaries

— Video surveillance and a crime-stopper tip triggered the arrest of three Limestone County teenagers today after a string of burglaries within the past two weeks, said sheriff’s Capt. Stanley McNatt.

McNatt said the 17-year-old juveniles are charged with three counts of third-degree burglary after robbing S&T Thrift Store in Owens and Christo’s Dairy Delight in Salem.

“The arrests were in regards to a burglary that occurred April 12 at S&T Thrift Store and again at the same location on (Sunday), plus a burglary (Sunday) at Christo’s,” he said. “We received calls as a result of surveillance footage being shown on TV.”

The teens are accused of taking video games, cameras, knives and register change during both S&T burglaries and change from Christo’s, McNatt said.

He said the juveniles are from Anderson, Athens and Elkmont.

“Two of the juveniles were placed in detention at the Tuscumbia juvenile facility and one juvenile was released to parents,” McNatt said.
