— At approximately 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 28, Athens Police Department responded to a stabbing on the 800 block of South Houston Street in Athens, according to Police Chief Floyd Johsnon.

“The victim had a single stab wound to his thigh,” said Johnson. “The offender was immediately identified as 41 year-old Patrick Malone, a resident of 700 North Houston Street, Athens. Malone left the scene before officers could get to the scene.”

Johnson said that the victim was transported to Athens-Limestone Hospital to have his wound stitched and stapled.

“Malone turned himself in Friday morning after detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest. He was booked on one count of second-degree assault and placed in the Limestone County Jail.
