BREAKING: Bail set at $50,000 for accused in murder over movies

ATHENS — Bail has been set at $50,000 for a Limestone County man accused of fatally stabbing his cousin with a pocket knife  during a New Year's Eve fight over borrowed movies.

Kenny Dewayne Adams, 35, of 14916, Lot 6, Chris Way, was charged with murder Dec. 31 in connection with the death of his cousin, Yancey Metz Foster, 34,  of 14580 Chris Way, Lot 6.

The argument stemmed from two action movies Adams had loaned Foster, titled " “The Fast and the Furious” and a sequel “2 Fast 2 Furious.”

Adams, who had lent the movies, wanted them returned and had gone to Foster's mobile home across the road to retrieve them.

Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely told The News Courier Wednesday that Adams said he stabbed Foster once in the left chest after Foster had hit him and grabbed him. Court records show the weapon used was a pocket knife. The knife was found later under a lawnmower at the home of Adams' mother, the sheriff said.

Adams has been in the Limesotne County Jail since shortly after the murder.

Limestone County Circuit Clerk Charles Page Jr. set bail for  Adams today via videoconference with the jail. Page said the defendant was also ordered to have no contact with the victim's family.
