Limestone under a flood watch until 6 a.m.

— Limestone County has been placed under a flood watch until 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville said additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches will impact heavily saturated soil across northwest Alabama and portions of southern middle Tennessee.

Runoff from the rainfall will produce rises in many of the streams and rivers across the region. Urban flash flooding is also possible due to heavy rainfall and a high amount of runoff causing roadways to be covered with water.

Limestone County continues to be under a winter weather advisory until 6 a.m. Wednesday, as periods of freezing rain are possible through the late afternoon hours.
