City Relay team hosting Swamp John's Supper tonight

From staff reports

The City of Athens Relay for Life team will host a Swamp John’s Supper from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. tonight at the Athens Police Department.

“Our community has been impacted in recent weeks with cancer deaths,” said Holly Hollman, Athens Grant Coordinator and Communications Specialist. “One gentleman died shortly after his diagnosis.”

The City of Athens Relay for Life team is working to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The team has sold more than 350 tickets for the Swamp John's Supper.

“We have had several calls asking if people can buy tickets at the door,” Hollman said. “We will sell tickets at the door as long as food is available.”

Cost is $10. The dinner includes shrimp, catfish or chicken plates with sides and tea. Dine in or carry out.

All money raised will go to the American Cancer Society.
