School closings, delays, openings for Thursday

Athens City Schools will reopen Thursday, with bus routes on regular schedule, Superintendent Dr. Orman Bridges Jr. said.

Limestone County Schools will be closed to students Thursday. All 12-month employees should report at 10 a.m. The Limestone County Board of Education meeting scheduled for Thursday night has been postponed to 6 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Limestone County Career Technical Center.

Athens Bible School will open at 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

Calhoun Community College will be open, but the college’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day program will be rescheduled.

Athens State University will be open all day for classes.
