Motorcyclist injured in Thursday crash

— A motorcyclist was injured Thursday evening in a crash involving another car on Jefferson Street in Athens.

Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson said the crash occurred when the driver of a car turned from Southwind Drive onto North Jefferson Street. A northbound motorcycle, driven by Tory Jarnez Gilbert of Athens, struck the back of the vehicle.

Gilbert was transported by Medflight to Huntsville Hospital. The News Courier is working to confirm Gilbert’s condition.
