The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Friday who allegedly stole a debit card from an unsuspecting swimmer.
Investigators allege that 21-year-old Joshua Ryan Pearce of Athens stole the card while the victim was swimming in Lester on June 26.
The sheriff’s office said Pearce was captured on video using the card twice at West End Chevron. He also allegedly used the card at Tanner Pharmacy.
In an unrelated case, Pearce is also accused of helping two other people sell stolen coins to a local gold buyer on June 28. Megan Hodge and Jacob Hood, were also arrested in connection to that case.
Pearce was charged with three counts of fraudulent use of a debit card and third-degree receiving stolen property. His bond was set at $8,500.
