— A Limestone County woman was injured late Friday morning after witnesses at the scene said she was struck by a vehicle backing out of the parking lot in front of Little Texas Pizza Buffet near the corner of Jefferson and Washington streets.

Family members said Linda Crouch, who was alert and sitting up when first responders arrived at the scene, had fallen between the sidewalk in front of the restaurant and the passenger side of the family’s maroon Chevy sedan. The vehicle’s teen driver didn’t realize she was lying on the ground as he put the vehicle into reverse and struck her.

Crouch, who was at the restaurant to celebrate a relative’s birthday with her sisters, was taken to Athens-Limestone Hospital with an injured right leg, which was wrapped at the scene by first responders. Multiple attempts to confirm her current condition were unsuccessful Friday.
