UPDATE: Limestone sheriff nabs 5 in meth bust

Five Limestone County residents are facing drug charges following a nighttime drug bust on Cox Road in western Limestone County.

Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely and two of his officers arrested the following people about 9:20 Monday night on charges of first-degree manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, the sheriff said.

“We had received information that Thomas Ray Eaton, 31, of 19204 Cox Road, and some of his friends had been cooking methamphetamine there on Cox Road,” the sheriff said.

“A little after 9 last night, me, Investigator Justin Flanagan and Deputy Casey Foxworthy arrived at the residence, which had a detached garage, and we noticed the odor of methamphetamine,” Blakely said.

“We obtained consent to search from Eaton and found five people in the garage sitting around making meth, and one of them was firing up a blow torch to light a pipe,” Blakely said.

In addition to Eaton, the following people were arrested:

• William Forrester Ellison, 42, of 11640 Patterson Hill Road, Elkmont;

• Linda Elizabeth Holman, 29, of 17062 Little Elk Road, Elkmont;

• Amanda Kay Knighten, 30, of 1804 S. Hine St., Athens;

• Beth Alyson Shaw, 43, of 18646 Cox Road, Athens.

All five remained in the Limestone County Jail Tuesday, with bail set at $56,000 each on the three charges.
