Motorcycle wreck leads to attempted murder charge

— An Athens man has been formally charged with attempted murder in a 2012 motorcycle wreck that left another man seriously injured, Limestone District Attorney Brian Jones said Thursday.

A Limestone County grand jury recently handed down an indictment for Bobby Wayne Sylvester, 47, of 201 Cloverleaf Drive, on charges of attempted murder, driving under the influence of alcohol, no insurance and negotiating a worthless negotiable instrument, records show. He was initially charged with DUI and no insurance following the wreck in 2012.
