Athens High’s homecoming parade will leave the high school at 3 p.m. today.

Traffic should avoid the parade route area, which has changed from previous years due to the fact it coincides with the Athens Storytelling Festival.

The parade will start at the Intersection of U.S. 31 and Hobbs Street. It will travel west on Hobbs Street until it reaches Marion Street. The parade will then make a left on Marion Street and travel one block before making a right on Market Street and again traveling one block. It will then make a left on Jefferson Street before ending at Hometown Grocery, located at the corner of Jefferson and Forrest streets.
