Members of the Athens school board have scheduled a daylong trip around the state to tour four high schools in order to plan for the future.
The public is invited to attend.
The special meeting, which was called Thursday, will begin at 7 a.m. Monday at the Central Office at 455 U.S. 31 North in Athens. From there, board members will travel by car to Hartselle High School, Gardendale High School, Oxford High School and Clay County High School.
The purpose of the special meeting is to view and tour the layout, architecture, design, security features and other aspects of the high schools.
The public is invited to attend but will need to arrive no later than 7 a.m. in order to join the group. Late-arriving attendees may contact the superintendent’s secretary, Pam Blacklidge, at 256-233-6601 to be directed to the location of the group.
