ATHENS — Witnesses identified four alleged burglars Tuesday in the burglary of an unoccupied Athens apartment, Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson said. More arrests are expected in the next few days

Police were called Tuesday to a burglary in progress at Higgins Court Apartments on Hine Street, but the suspects had fled when Officer Joe Kimery arrived, the chief said. Witnesses to the burglary were able to identify four suspects, Johnson said.

On Wednesday, Investigator Eric White obtained four arrests warrants on charges of third-degree burglary. Later in the day, officers arrested Kristin Marie Ros Hudson, 24, and Osden Pierre Cohn, 24, both of 515 S. Hine St., Apt. B-7, Athens, on two of the warrants, Johnson said.

Hudson and Cohn were booked at the Police Department and transported to the Limestone County Jail. Both were released after posting bail of $2,500, records show.

Taken in the burglary were a “Dora the Explorer “ television, eight CDs, a skillet, a purse with 20 DVDs and CDs, a broom, a lighter and a cellphone.

The investigation into this case will continue, the chief said.
