ATHENS — Two Athens men have been arrested in connection with the theft of combine parts that were later recovered and returned to the owner, an official said Tuesday.

Limestone County Sheriff’s officials on Monday arrested Jessie Glenn Cline, 22, of 16609 Blackburn Road, Lot 12, and Roger Gene Cline, 27, of 13443 Reid Road, on charges of first-degree theft, Capt. Stanley McNatt said.

“In the course of the investigation, we  discovered that Roger had sold the items at a local salvage yard Monday morning,” McNatt said.

The Clines were arrested Monday morning by Deputy Tom Gilbert and transported to the Sheriff’s Office, where Lt. Jay Stinnett questioned them and they confessed to the theft of the combine parts.

The parts, valued at $5,300, were returned to the owner.

The Clines are also suspects in another theft and may face additional charges, McNatt said.
