LCWSA to keep Carpenter Technology project flowing

ATHENS — The Limestone County Water and Sewer Authority board of directors unanimously agreed Thursday to pay $132,955 for the increased cost of the trunk sewer project at the new Carpenter Technology steel manufacturing plant in Tanner.

Several deductive change orders with project contractor Garney Companies trimmed $228,817 from the $1.3 million overall cost for the project.

The cost includes the $1,107,000 bid from Garney, plus $193,000 in expenses for surveying, administrative services, environmental reviews, engineering, acquisitions, appraisals and legal services.
