Approximately 50 marijuana plants and various paraphernalia were seized from an indoor growing facility at a residence on Alabama 251 near Ardmore Tuesday.
Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely said his office received a tip from Huntsville Police Department’s narcotics unit about the home located at 28133 Alabama 251.
When Limestone County and Huntsville narcotics agents searched the home, Blakely said they discovered a “fairly elaborate” indoor growing operation. Officers then seized the pot, grow lamps, fans, planters, heaters and pipes.
Darlene Crane, 55, of 28133 Alabama 251 was arrested at the scene and charged with trafficking marijuana and unlawful possession and taken to Limestone County Jail.
Her husband, Richard Hairr, 60, of the same address, was transported by ambulance to Athens-Limestone Hospital after his blood pressure spiked. He is set to be arrested on the same charges as Crane once released from the hospital.
