Man accused of sex abuse of girl, 12

— An Athens man stands accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old female acquaintance  earlier this month, an official said.

Limestone County Sheriff’s Lt. Jay Stinnett said a family member reported the alleged abuse to authorities, and the girl was then interviewed by someone at the Child Advocacy Center. The girl said the alleged abuse occurred July 20, Stinnett said.

Michael Deangelo Mosley, 26, of 1201 Brownsferry St., was arrested on a warrant charging him with first-degree sexual abuse of a child under age 12, records show. He was also served with two grand jury warrants charging him with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance, records show.

Mosley was being held in the Limestone County Jail, with bail set at $35,000 on all three charges.
