Entries for Decatur film festival due by Thursday

— Budding local filmmakers have until Thursday, March 28, to submit entries for the third annual River City Film Festival.

The festival will be held April 26-27 at the Alabama Center for the Arts and the Princess Theatre in downtown Decatur.

The event will feature festival workshops, activities, public screenings and a red-carpet awards ceremony.

The festival will accept entries for original short and feature films. To qualify as a short, entries cannot exceed 20 minutes in length, and must have been completed on or after Jan. 1, 2011.

Features are limited to 120 minutes in length.

Entries will be classified as Decatur City Schools Filmmaker grades K­8; Decatur City Schools Filmmaker grades 9­12; Young Filmmaker Short and Young Filmmaker Feature grades K­12; College Filmmaker; and Independent Filmmaker Short or Independent Filmmaker Feature.
