Commission to discuss L&S property

For The News Courier

— The Limestone County Commission will conduct a work session shortly after the 10 a.m. regular meeting adjourns today in the Clinton Street annex commission chambers.

The public meeting, which was suggested by Commissioner Ben Harrison during the commission’s Nov. 13 work session, will focus on reviewing options and forming a plan for the L&S property on North Jefferson Street purchased by the county the previous May for $525,000.

The commission has reached a consensus in finding a permanent home for the Community Corrections, Pardons and Paroles program and providing equipment storage space by moving forward with a plan to construct a prefabricated metal building on the north end of the L&S property.
