UPDATE: Passerby noticed wreck that killed Madison cyclist

A passing motorist was the person who discovered the motorcycle wreck that killed a 34-year-old Madison man in Limestone County Friday afternoon.

State Trooper Curtis Summerville said the victim, Kurtis Carver Beesley, was driving his 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Pryor Road, nine miles south of Athens, when he apparently left the roadway and overturned sometime around 3 a.m. Friday morning.

A passing motorist saw the wreckage in a cotton field in a curve on Pryor Road about 12 hours later and called authorities. The coroner determined the approximate time of death.

The area where the accident occurred is located south of Interstate 565 and east of Interstate 65 in the Swancott area of southern Limestone County near the Tennessee River.
