— An Ardmore man arrested for indecent exposure Wednesday in Athens had been charged a year ago with first-degree robbery but the charge was dropped, court records show.

Earl Blake Emerson, 39, was released from Athens City Jail Wednesday after posting bail of $500 on the exposure charge, records show. He is accused of exposing himself in the Walmart parking lot. The victim, who said the accused was masturbating, obtained the truck tag number and telephoned police, who arrested Emerson, records show.

In October 2012, Emerson was arrested on a charged of first-degree robbery in an alleged attack on a 75-year-old man, and the case was presented to a Limestone County grand jury. The grand jury heard the evidence and issued a “no bill,” which means it determined the criminal charge alleged was not sufficiently supported by the evidence to warrant prosecution, court records show.
