3 arrested when investigators find meth lab

Three men were arrested on drug charges Tuesday night following a bust at a home on Grigsby Ferry Road.

Limestone County Sheriff’s narcotics officers Lt. Josh McLaughlin and Investigator Justin Flanagan went to a home at 12294 Grigsby Ferry Road in reference to reports of the occupant, Vence Dewayne Romine, 33, cooking methamphetamine at the dwelling, Capt. Stanley McNatt said.

“Investigators immediately detected the odor of a meth lab, ” McNatt said. “They located Simon Peter McGuire, 40, of 28355 Monday Road, Lester, and Jiles Troy Andrews Jr., 39, of 12105 Grigsby Ferry Road, Elkmont, coming out of a shed, where officers found an active meth lab, several old labs, snorting straws and meth pipes.”

A pat down of the suspects revealed McGuire had a small amount of meth, McNatt said.

The three men were each charged with first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, records show.

All three remained in the Limestone County Jail Wednesday afternoon, with bail set at $56,000 each.
