IHOP assistant manager charged with theft of $8,600

MONTGOMERY —

An assistant manager at the Athens IHOP was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly stealing about $8,600 from the newly opened restaurant.

According to Athens Police, Stephanie Cooley of Athens was charged with theft of property. In the middle of October, it was discovered by the IHOP owner that more than  $8,600 in cash was missing and had not been deposited by Cooley. The thefts apparently took place between August and October.

Investigator Tim McIntire investigated and obtained the warrant for Cooley’s arrest. She was booked at the police department and transferred to the Limestone County Jail.
