Labor Day closings

— The News Courier wishes its readership a happy and safe Labor Day weekend. This is a list of closings to help plan holiday and early-week activities.

Because it is a federal holiday, schools, banks, post offices and Athens city and Limestone County government offices are closed Monday.

While Athens city offices are closed, the city Sanitation Department will continue with its scheduled recycling route. Those slated for recycling pickup Monday should have their carts on the curb by 6 a.m.

Limestone County garbage pickup will run on schedule so residents are asked to put out containers earlier than usual because workers will run their routes earlier.
