Bomb threats close Walker Baptist Hospital, much of Ala. Highway 69

CULLMAN — Walker Baptist Hospital has been evacuated and all bridges are closed along Alabama Highway 69 in Walker County due to bomb threats received around 8:15 a.m. this morning.

Walker County Emergency Management Agency Interim Director Regina Myers said the caller reported there was a bomb on an unspecified bridge on Highway 69 and one in the hospital in Jasper.

The Jasper Fire Department has blocked-off bridges, while hospital patients have been sent to several churches and other designated areas.

Myers asked for travelers on Alabama Highway 69 going into Walker County to seek another available route.
