County arrests

Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests Friday:

• Jason William Andrews, 38, of 27728 Saddle Trail, Toney, public intoxication

• Kathy Jean Caldwell, 49, of 20844 Juniper Circle, Apt. 7, Athens, bond revoked on previous charge of distribution of a controlled substance

• Jarred Dewayne Casteel, 27, of 10429 New Cut Road, Athens, probation revoked on previous conviction for second-degree theft

• Krystal Ladawn Defoe, 30, of 700 Fifth Ave., Apt. G-20, Athens, second-degree possession of a forged instrument

• Steven Dewayne McMahan, 27, of 13050 U.S. 72, Lot 5, Athens, first-degree possession of a forged instrument

• Charlie Wayne Phillips, 38, of 21960 Cario Hollow Road, Athens, probation revoked on previous conviction for possession of a controlled substance

• Robert Allison Scoggin, 37, of 1342 County Road 140, Town Creek, third-degree theft

• Donald Marvin Thomas, 47, of 26760 Newby Road, Athens, first-degree receiving stolen property and second-degree possession of a forged instrument

• Phillip Edward Wright, 47, of 26440 Grady Lane, Ardmore, public intoxication, driving under the influence, attempting to elude, driving with a revoked license, no proof of insurance and open container of alcohol

County thefts

Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following incidents and thefts Friday:

• ELKMONT – Colt .45-caliber handgun, valued at $700, stolen between Nov. 20 and Dec. 6 in 22000 block Fain Road

• TONEY – Fourteen-foot boat, valued at $300, stolen between Dec. 2 and 4 in 27000 block Jennings Chapel Road

• MADISON – 2000 Infinity, no value listed, stolen Dec. in 12000 block Granite Circle

City arrests

Athens Police Department reported the following arrests Friday:

• Janice Marie Greenhaw, 54, of 100 E. Sanderfer Road, No. 129, Athens, two counts of harassment

• Lisa Gulsby Dent, 33, of 27965 Powell Road, Madison, sentenced from court to 21 days

• David Brian Hopper, 20, of 610 State Docks Road, Decatur, arrest for Decatur Police Department

• James R. Gillespie, 35, of 1246 Graham Ave., Florence, arrest for Lauderdale County

• Karla Daniel Haggard, 45, of 289 Tower Street, Lot 34, Trinity, driving under the influence of controlled substances

City thefts

Athens Police Department reported the following thefts Friday:

• Acer laptop computer, Alabama ID card, brown leather wallet, debit card and money, total value $550, stolen between Dec. 5 and 6 in 600 block Swan Drive

• Stereo box with two 12-inch speakers and amplifier, wallet with initials KDW, money and HP RFBG61 laptop computer and carrying case, total value $1,617, burglarized Dec. 6 in 700 block Lucas Street

• Craftsman multi tool, valued at $40, stolen Dec. 6 in 800 block U.S. 72 West

• Two Pioneer brand front door speakers, Pioneer DEHP6100BT radio unit, driver’s side quarter glass window, older model Chevrolet Corsica, miscellaneous power tools and clothing, and two nylon carrying bags, total value $810, taken during breaking and entering of a vehicle between Dec. 5 and 6 in 24000 block Savannah Trace

• White gold filigree one-quarter carat diamond ring, band type yellow gold ring with diamonds around the band and baguette diamonds in center, two class rings, various yellow gold rings and bracelets, two gold earrings with one-half carats in diamonds, change purse, Dell Inspiron laptop computer with a 17-inch monitor, Remington 870 12-gauge shotgun and Mossberg 500 12-gauge shotgun with green stock and buttstock, total value $5,550, burglarized Dec. 6 in 17000 block Jeffery Street

• Kawasaki automobile, valued at $2,500, stolen between Dec. 6 and 7 in 1400 block Wheeler Street

• $103 cash stolen Dec. 7 in 1200 block Audubon Lane

• Panasonic iPod docking station, valued at $65, stolen between Nov. 1 and Dec. 7 in 1300 block East Elm Street 


• Bennie Harold Fraser of Athens was injured in an accident at 4:26 p.m. Thursday on West Hobbs Street between Jefferson and Marion streets – Athens Police

• Sharon Tayna Cortez of Athens was injured in an accident at 8:06 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 72 between Kelli Drive and Lindsay Lane – Athens Police
