Five injured in Sunday crash

— Five people were injured Sunday evening when two cars collided on Snake Road, eight miles west of Athens.

According to state troopers, a 1996 Ford and a 2002 Dodge were involved in the crash, which occurred at 5 p.m.

Drivers and passengers were all wearing seatbelts, and two of the passengers in the Dodge, ages two and four, were in safety seats.

Troopers identified the driver of the Ford as Caroline Kimbrough, 50, of Athens. The driver of the Dodge was identified as Jody Allen Pugh, 25, of Athens, and the passengers were identified as Angela Lynn, 18, of Rogersville, and the two minors.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, troopers said.
