— A local man was injured in a stabbing at approximately 1:15 p.m. Friday at his residence.

“(On Friday) around 1:15 p.m., we received a call in reference to a stabbing at 27167 Oak Grove Road, which has an Elkmont address, but it’s actually in Athens,” Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely said. “Kevin Hargrove was there when we arrived. He had been stabbed in the leg and was transported to Huntsville Hospital in stable condition.”

The sheriff said four other people are connected to the case, including the person believed to be the perpetrator.

“There were four other subjects at the time the fracas occurred,” he said. “Those four had left the residence prior to us arriving. We later found them at the Budget Inn in Ardmore, and the four were charged with unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance.

“Of those four people, Gary Fox, reportedly stabbed Mr. Hargrove, but he has not been charged in the stabbing at this time,” Blakely said. “He is in the Athens hospital after we brought him to the jail. He apparently ingested too much of the meth he was making and apparently had almost overdosed.”

As of Saturday afternoon, Gary Fox, 27, of 27268 South Road, Athens was listed as a patient in the intensive care unit at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He is charged with second-degree unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance with $25,000 bond.

Sandra Jeane Fox, 48, of 27167 Oak Grove Road, Elkmont, has been charged with second-degree unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance with $2,500 bond.

Ashley Carol Batrum, 30, of 27974 Harvest Road, Toney, is charged with four counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument with $10,000 bond.

Jody Montana Robertson, 30, of 20393 Turner Lane, Toney, is charged with second-degree unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance with $25,000 bond.
