HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Federal authorities are offering a reward for information leading to the suspects who burglarized a Huntsville gun shop.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Huntsville Police Department are offering $3,000 for information in the case. ATF officials said Wednesday that the National Shooting Sports Foundation is matching the reward, bringing the total to $6,000.
Authorities say JC Guns and Tackle was burglarized Aug. 31 and more than 100 firearms were reported missing to Huntsville police.
Officials say the reward offer is part of a national initiative meant to quickly garner tips on cases involving federally licensed firearms retailers.
Tipsters are asked to call the ATF at 800-ATF-GUNS.
