Kimiko Hicks

— The funeral for Kimiko “Judy” Hicks, 79, of Elkmont will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Spry Funeral Home with Kevin Ward officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery.

Visitation is from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hicks died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

She was born Nov. 19, 1934, in Japan. She attended Salem Springs Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her stepson, James Hicks Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Hicks of Elkmont; sons, John Malone of Elkmont, Tony Tibbit of Jacksonville, Fla., and Raymond Malone of Newport News, Va.; one brother; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; stepson, Allen P. Hicks of Athens; stepdaughter, Melaniann Peircy of Petersburg, Va.; and several step-grandchildren.
