Gurland Wales

— The funeral for Gurland Stanley Wales, 66, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Carl Witty officiating. Burial will follow in Hasting Cemetery in Ardmore.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 3, at the funeral home.

Mr. Wales died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at his home. He was born Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1946, in Athens to the late Malon Wales and the late Kathleen Vickers Wales. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Mack Wales.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Wales of Athens; son, Joey (Jada) Wales of Athens; daughters, Christy (Jamar) Burden-Patrick of Athens and Mary Kay Wales of Athens; sisters, Janice Nichols of Elkmont and Kathy (Mark) Bozee of Elkmont; sister-in-law, Renee Wales of Ardmore; four grandchildren, Christopher Wales, Taylor Burden, Analey Burden and Lilyann Wales; and a host of other adopted grandchildren.

Stanley will forever be loved, cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
