Virginia Goode

The funeral for Virginia Elledge Goode, 74, of Athens will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home with Odis Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Wallace Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Goode died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Huntsville Hospital.

She was born Aug. 16, 1939, in Limestone County to Charles Willard Elledge and Alma Louise Cox Elledge. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Goode.

Survivors include three sons, Marty Goode of Atlanta, Kevin Goode of Athens, and Bradley Goode and wife, Rhonda, of Athens; two daughters, Diane Morris and husband, Ricky, of Athens, and Tracy Goode of Athens; two brothers, Dan Elledge of Deluth, Ga., and Butch Elledge of Athens; three sisters, Annette Patrick of Athens, Glenda Hart of Athens, and Sandy Smith of Swartz Creek, Mich.; grandchildren, Whitney Looney and husband, Matt, Jason Morris, Chelsee Thornton and husband, Cole, Summer Goode, Caleb Goode, Jared Morris and Colby Goode; and five great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 100 Chase Park, Birmingham, Ala. 35244
